What is Bike&Food?
The Bike&Food experience was created for bicycles and food lovers, especially. Two of Italy's great cultural heritages.
An itinerary for travelers who wish to explore the secrets of a region where nature flourishes and artisanal producers thrive.

We'll cycle in groups, guided by professionals, on secondary roads and bike routes, on assisted bikes or regular bikes, depending on your fitness level.
Each day we will visit producers, taste local delicacies and meet the majestic lakes and mountains of northern Piedmont.

Conceived by an Italian-Brazilian couple: architect and artist Patricia Orem and chef and economist Felipe Bianchi, Casa della Capra is a destination for lovers of art, cycling and cooking, overlooking the charming lake of Mergozzo, in northern Piedmont.

Between culture, landscape and gastronomy, it's hard to come up with just one reason to visit this region. Around lakes Maggiore and Orta, elegance can be found in palaces, botanical gardens and sophisticated hospitality.
While the mountains of Val D'Ossola, preserve medieval villages, traditional pastures, and vineyards that have been cultivated for generations, the wild Val Grande National Park will allow a more primitive and authentic experience.

This region has become a great destination for those who love cycling. These majestic mountains and valleys are home to the main producers and to those who like to eat well. We are in a region of excellent gastronomy, with award-winning restaurants, famous for Nebbiolo wines, Bettelmat and Gorgonzola cheeses, Porcini mushroom sausages, and Risotto.

Mergozzo
This charming town is composed of colorful houses, churches, chapels, and staircases built with local stone. A pleasant 7-minute walk along the lakefront leads to the main square, where events and meetings take place, and where one can meet a majestic historic tree: a 500-year-old elm.
​
The lake, which holds the same name, is about four kilometers long and two kilometers wide. It is known for its pristine waters, and is considered the cleanest body of water in Italy. A reserve for migratory birds, a place for triathlons, canoeing and ideal for swimming and stand-up paddling.

Our program is suggested at the beginning of the group's formation, according to their physical fitness. Changes in levels of difficulty, distance, altitude and duration may occur.

Reservations can also be made by filling out the form provided by Casa della Capra and paying 40% of the total price. The balance can be paid in up to 3 instalments by credit card (charged on the 5th of each month) or via bank transfer to Casa della Capra’s account. The full amount must be paid no later than 60 days before check-in.

Cancellation Policy
For cancellations up to 90 days before arrival, the amount paid is fully refunded. For cancellations between 90 and 60 days before the trip, the amount paid is retained as credit for one year. Cancellations made less than 60 days before arrival result in a 100% penalty. If the cancelling participant is replaced by another, the amount paid may be refunded. In the event of cancellation due to force majeure, it is possible to postpone the booking, free of charge, for up to one year, subject to approval by Casa della Capra.
