Liel Maghen
Born in Israel to a Libyan father and Italian mother, Liel wondered about his identity and its position in the region throughout his life. Since his graduation from the Arava Institute in 2010, he has been dedicated to changing the human dynamics in this region. Through working in group facilitation, community organizing, mobilization, and social entrepreneurship, Liel aims to contribute to a future where people are more empowered, have self-agency, and live in a more supportive, sustainable and regenerative environment. Liel received the IIE Goldberg Peace Prize for co-founding the Sinsila Center. He is a regular contributor at the Forum for Regional Thinking and holds an MA degree in International Development, and a B.A in Middle Eastern studies, both acquired in the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.
Silvia Strass
An artist and activist who combines poetry, illustration, and calligraphy with a focus on social and environmental issues. Silvia is involved in agroforestry, community kitchens and reforestation projects, supporting women in vulnerable communities in São Paulo, collaborating with Indigenous peoples in Amazon and farming families. Her work emphasizes "reforesting" the imagination, using creativity as a tool for envisioning more inclusive and equitable futures. Silvia believes that poetic and the political can coexist, bringing joy and clarity to efforts aimed at social change.
